Are you eagerly awaiting the arrival of your new bundle of joy? There’s nothing quite like welcoming a new baby into the world and watching them grow and develop. As time flies by, you’ll want to capture every special moment of those early days so that you can treasure those memories forever. That’s where I come in. My name is Kerrie a colchester newborn photographer, and I am the owner of The Little Garden Studio, a natural light baby photography studio based in Lawford, Essex. I specialise in creating beautiful and timeless newborn photos that you and your family will cherish for a lifetime.

I understand that planning a newborn photo shoot can be overwhelming, especially for first-time parents. But rest assured that I’m here to guide you through the entire process and make it as enjoyable and stress-free as possible. I believe in creating a relaxed and comfortable environment for both you and your baby, so you can sit back and enjoy the experience.

To ensure that your photo shoot is a success, I recommend booking your session in advance, ideally around your 20-week scan. This gives you plenty of time to plan and prepare for the shoot, as well as ensuring that I have availability for your preferred date. Once your baby is born, we can confirm the shoot date, and I’ll work flexibly around your little one’s schedule – after all, babies are never predictable!

When Should You Book?

The ideal time for a newborn photo shoot is within the first two weeks of your baby’s life. During this time, babies are typically very sleepy, making it easier to capture those adorable, curled-up poses that every parent loves. Don’t worry if you’re a little late to schedule your shoot, though – we can still get gorgeous photos after the two-week mark.

At The Little Garden Studio, I believe that every family is unique, which is why I encourage you to bring any special props or items you’d like to include in the shoot. Whether it’s a favourite blanket or a sentimental toy, I want your photos to reflect your family’s personality and style.

During the session, I recommend keeping your baby well-fed and warm to ensure they’re happy and cooperative. I’ll have the heating on high to create a cosy and peaceful environment, and we’ll take as many breaks as needed for feeding, nappy changes, and cuddles to ensure that your little one is comfortable throughout the shoot.

As a Colchester newborn photographer and a mother myself, I understand how important it is to capture those early moments in a beautiful and timeless way. My natural light studio provides the perfect backdrop for those sweet and intimate photos that you’ll treasure for years to come.

If you’d like to find out more about booking a session with me, I’d love to chat! Let’s work together to create beautiful memories that you’ll cherish forever.
