Last Saturday Siobhan and Chris’ wedding day finally came around and with it so did a whole lot of rain!
After a late arrival at church (due to a late taxi – not Siobhan!) the ceremony begun in the funniest of ways. Siobhan was walked to the top of the aisle by her dad, with her bridesmaids and brides-men following behind. Just then the music cut out and was replaced with static as the church’s speakers reacted to a phone signal! It was loud, and nothing like the romantic music they had planned! However, it did put plenty of smiles on everyone’s faces and Siobhan and Chris were doubling over at the top of the aisle as the ceremony begun.
Afterwards we just missed the rain to get the most important family photos and confetti and the newly-weds made their way from Wivenhoe to The Coach House at Marks Hall Estate. We were greeted by Jess and a driver who whisked us off to the walled garden for photos in the rain.
Upon retuning guests were gearing up for the speeches where Chris’ best man (and past Groom of mine) Andy, had prepared not only a great speech but along with the rest of the groomsmen written a song with photo slideshow to really embarrass Chris!
I always tell my couples when it looks like rain on their day that its nothing to worry about. You’ll still be married by the end of the day, and it will be my job to ensure we work around it. Siobhan and Chris were absolute stars and the rain most definitely didn’t dampen this day!
