Back in July this year I had the pleasure of photographing Nic and Sophie’s Preston Court Wedding. The gloriously sunny day began with a chance to photograph the wedding morning preparations and as I sat to edit these pictures I couldn’t wait to compare and contrast Nic and the groomsmen’s approach to Sophie and the Bridal party as the readied themselves at The Bell Hotel.
Whilst Nic and his groomsmen spent a laid back morning enjoying the sunshine and a good fry up, Sophie and the girls were busy with hair and makeup. I loved Sophie’s floral hair piece, which captured the Boho feel of their wedding perfectly. Especially against the simplicity of her stunning gown, which surprisingly wasn’t even her first choice of dress! Originally Sophie had her heart set on a different design, however when she went in for a fitting she didn’t like it and ended up trading it. Looking at Sophie in her final gown for the big day we can all agree she made the right choice; she looked beautiful.
Their outdoor wedding at Preston Court was such a pretty setting. The beautiful natural scenery, on Juliana’s Island, from the iron bridge across the lake to the ceremony pagoda framed every moment perfectly, it really was a dream setting for a floral, boho wedding and afforded plenty of options for backdrops.
After the ceremony guests made the most of the weather with Pimms in the gardens. They were then treated to rides on a wonderful Vintage Horse Carousel and were called to be seated by Fairground Organs! The day had barely begun and already it was proving to be a momentous occasion.
The meal was served in the Kent Barn and Sophie was brave in her choice- spaghetti bolognaise! Her favourite meal…I would have petrified to even attempt to eat it in a white dress, respect! The evening continued with speeches, DJs and dancing. Somewhere in between it all I took the childhood sweethearts off for a few couple shots and the grounds of Preston Court gave us some beautiful photographs that I hope they will treasure as long as their memories of the happy day!
