Yesterday Mel and Dan were married at Pontlands Park in Chelmsford. It was such a perfect autumnal day, with leaves carpeting the ground surrounding the hotel, creating a carpet of brown, yellow and red in all directions. Morning preparations with Mel were so calm and relaxed with a few of her close friends, and plenty of children nearby all being primped and preened ahead of the ceremony. Baby Tilly was very well behaved, and everyone took turns keeping her occupied on the floor with her teddy rattle, which she just seemed mesmerised with and totally unaware that today her parents were getting married!
Dan calmed his nerves in the bar with his best man Nick and friend Danny at his side. And guests started to arrive it all started to feel very real for him. As he saw Mel round the corner in the ceremony room, he was in total awe of how beautiful she looked, and it was clear in that moment that they are definitely meant to be. The ceremony itself had its funny moments with lots of ‘promises’ being made and laughter when the rings were a little tight.
With the clocks going back last week, we had a one hour window of daylight for their photos, which we managed perfectly. I whisked them off straight after the ceremony for photos together among those autumn leaves. Dan later told me before I left that he found his engagement shoot experience before the wedding to be so helpful in putting his nerves at ease on the day which made me so happy, thats the exact reason why I offer them, and you can tell from their wedding pictures how relaxed there were to have me around on the day.
Here are a couple of sneak peeks for now, and it wont be long until they are all soon ready to view.
