On Saturday Laura and James’ wedding rolled around, and with it came some well overdue sunshine! When I looked out the window the morning of their wedding I was so happy for them, as having planned a wedding reception in a marquee on a farmers field, I just knew sunshine would be what they needed to really create the ambience of their laid back village wedding.
Laura’s family live in a gorgeous cottage in Bruisyard, just around the corner is St Peter’s Church, where her sister Lucy also got married, and equidistance up the road is the field where the marquee was set up. This wedding was a real community affair, neighbours had been pruning their front gardens and one couple even decorated the road signs with bunting!
The morning started with me in Bruisyard photographing Laura getting ready with her family, the house was very relaxed, and the excitement of the day was very clearly in the air. My assistant Gemma met the boys in Framlingham at The Crown Hotel, where again a nice relaxed atmosphere was apparent.
Finally the time rolled around for the ceremony to begin and guests walked from the field to the church, soon to be followed by Laura and her dad, who took a slow stroll around the corner and although Laura was nervous about being centre of attention, I think the excitement of what was about to happen soon helped her forget!
After the ceremony and photos at the church, Laura and James led their guests in a parade up the road to the field again, this was such a fun sight to see, everyone walking behind them, linking arms, smiling and laughing away. On route we stopped by the cottage again for some photos with just the two of them whilst their guests took their arrival drinks of sangria and sat on hay bales in the sunshine.
Laura and James are such a fun couple to be around, I am in no doubt that they are 100% perfect for each other, and their friends and family made us so welcome on the day. Here is their sneak peek to tide them over until the rest of their photos are ready…
