A Rainy Spring Wedding at Marks Hall
On Saturday Kirsten and Mark got married at The Coach House at Marks Hall. A definite favourite venue of mine, surrounded by the most gorgeous gardens. They had anticipated an outdoor ceremony, but with the unpredictability of the weather in the end it was deemed a safer option for it to take place inside. This really didn’t detract from the beauty of it all though. Inside had been decorated to a tee by Kirsten and Mark. Kirsten had even taken a floristy course, to create the bouquets, buttonholes and centrepieces herself. And the fairy lights covering all the beams made for such a cosy atmosphere especially when best man Ben, played an acoustic version of ‘You Look Wonderful Tonight’ as Kirsten, her sisters and flower girl Alice, walked down the aisle.
In the morning, Gemma and I met the girls at Firmins Bakehouse cottage in Coggeshall, which was a beautiful and peaceful setting for the getting ready action. The girls had fun and fraught times (being sisters afterall!) but soon all found themselves in tears of happiness as the emotion of the day caught up with them when they were all ready to go. The boys on the other hand had a chilled morning just up the road at the Woolpack Inn, getting a few beers in before the ceremony begun!
Despite the rainy start to the day, the weather ended up on our side. All the newlyweds photos were able to be taken outside, and despite it being a bit chilly and the intermittent drizzle, we still got loads of gorgeous photos in those impressive grounds. Even getting upstaged at one point by a very feisty duck!
After the formalities guests were treated to a Mexican themed meal of Taco’s and chilli served by waitresses donning sombreros, which looked so fab!
Overall this whole wedding was just so lovely, Gemma and I were made so welcome not only by Kirsten and Mark’s families and friends but also by the incredible staff at Marks Hall. Take a look below for some highlights from their big day….
