A Crisp Autumnal Cricket Club Wedding
When Claire first got in touch with me about booking her wedding her words were… ‘think boho on a budget, homemade bunting, sunflowers and wildflowers’. What was important to Claire and Andy was that their friends and families had fun at their wedding and that it definitely represented them as well. So, lots of traditions were left behind in favour of creating a much more relaxed day.
Instead of speeches a quiz was planned, which everyone got very involved in, including two guests singing the music round when the laptop wouldn’t work! But in the end it was the teachers who won, and took home 2 bottles of champagne (actually I don’t think they made it that far!). Guests were also treated to wood fire oven pizza’s with their choices of toppings too, which were very tasty!!
The wedding took place in Wivenhoe where Andy grew up, Claire had also arranged for the choir from the school where she teaches to come along and sing during the ceremony. And after the service in the local church I took them both for a short walk along the quay. The rain stopped and the sun came out as we walked alongside the river dodging the puddles and the photos that happened shortly after really do look like they could have been abroad somewhere!
We then made it back to the cricket club for the rest of the days festivities. Below are a few of my favourites from their big day…
