A Local Church Hall Wedding
Ciara and Ben’s wedding was anything but conventional. In fact Ciara often referred to it as an ‘un-wedding’ as they didn’t want much fuss and instead wanted a day full of their friends and family without the constraints that a normal wedding brings.
They were wed the Thursday before their wedding day and then the following Saturday opted for a blessing in Mistley Church (a stones throw from their home) with a reception at the Church Hall down the road. They also called on their talented friends and family to bring everything together on the day, sourcing everything locally to make it a truly unique day and a really lovely celebration of our local town’s of Mistley and Manningtree.
It was odd for me, I wont lie! As I’m so used to taking my couples off for couple portraits and ensuring I gather a selection of family members for traditional group photographs. This was the first time I’ve been asked to purely cover the action in a documentary style, snapping candids rather than anything posed or set-up. So whilst I was a little out of my comfort zone, I was very honoured to be asked to be a part of such a fun day.
Here’s a few highlights from their un-wedding!
