The Month that was January.

So goodbye January.

Goodbye resolutions (mine only ever last a week anyway), goodbye good awful detoxes, and goodbye leftover Christmas selection boxes . What a start to the New Year it was. I have to admit that most of my month has been spent wrapped up warm indoors by the fire, with a snuggly dog and reigniting my crochet habit! Tagg even got to experience his first snow fall this month! But January is always a time full of anticipation as I start to look forward to the busy months ahead of engagement shoots and weddings (my diary looks fuller than a kid at an free for all Ice-cream factory deal). So as the year kicks off I just wanted to round up all of the happenings here for you to see in one handy blog post.

Knowing full well that lots of lucky ladies would be celebrating engagements over Christmas I thought I’d help you out by posting some helpful advice on the pre-planning stage with my post; Just Engaged?  What next….

JUST ENGAGED-

Real Weddings + Wedding-y Things…

In the aftermath of Christmas, January was a time for me to chill out too. Having been busy in the weeks leading to it with an amazing holiday in Sri Lanka for my 30th and then with general festivities over the Christmas period, I took a few days off at the start of the New Year. However, in true bus-man holiday style, I couldn’t resist uploading my best bits of 2014. Given then number of weddings I photographed, this turned out to be a mammoth task and ended in a four part review of the year! Take a look by following the links below.

To banish any post-sales blues I brightened things up with a look back at Sophie and Nic’s stunning summer Fairground wedding at Preston Court wedding. With their vintage carousel and relaxed boho theme, it’s a post sure to take your mind of the fact your new Xmas dress was 50% off in the January sale.

For those of you already well into the planning stage (and from the conversations I’ve had with some of my impending 2015 brides, I know many of you are) it can be a frantic time as the realisation dawns that you are getting married this year! To slow things down January saw my peaceful post; The one with the brides moment of quiet reflection.  And to get you excited about those plans we also took a look at the fun and games you can incorporate into your wedding receptions

Pretty Dresses + Press Features

To tempt those of you still on the big search for the dress that will be ‘the one’ I was excited to share the new ‘Village Affair’ collection from Kitty and Dulcie, which I photographed for them last year but could only just now share. The images not only feature on their website but the collection was also published in Perfect Wedding Magazine and graced the pages of inspirational wedding blog Love My Dress.

Finally, my first wedding of 2015 was Claire and Dan’s Gosfield Hall big day. As far as things go, starting my working year surrounded by log fires and Christmas trees was a pretty amazing beginning to 2015.
