A Relaxed Back Garden Marquee Wedding
Like many others Rachel and Mike have been patiently waiting for their big day after postponing from 2020. We’d met only via Zoom for the entirety of their planning until the week of the wedding when I popped up to Rougham to have a quick look around the church where they had planned to get married.
Growing up in the village and with her father as vicar, this wedding was particular special to Rachel. Her parents live in the rectory behind the church and so the marquee was erected in the back garden making this the shortest travelling distances between venues I think I’ve ever had! It also made for an incredibly relaxed day for themselves and guests as everyone could wander between the church and garden with ease.
We started with a drizzly morning which was replaced by a dry (and sometimes sunny!) afternoon and evening. Again absolutely perfect for the covid rules around marquees with half the sides open, it was such a warm day still and the garden games were in full swing the entire day!
Here’s the highlights from their big day…
