My name is Kerrie, and I am the founder of this beautiful Colchester newborn photo studio. Welcome to The Little Garden Studio, a natural light baby studio based in Lawford on the Essex/Suffolk border. Today, I want to take you on a journey of how The Little Garden Studio came to be and what makes it a unique space for capturing beautiful baby photos.
How it Started
Originally as a wedding photographer, I started The Little Garden Studio during the 2020 COVID lockdown. Like many small business owners, I was forced to pivot when my wedding photography business was put on hold. With a 5-month-old son at home, I knew that this was the perfect time to make a switch from weddings to babies. Not only would it allow me to have more time at home with my little one, but I could also capture those precious early moments for other families.
I started by converting my garden room into a cozy and inviting natural light studio. As a mother and a photographer, I knew how important it is to capture those early moments of your little one’s life. So, I wanted to create a welcoming space where parents could feel relaxed and comfortable while I captured their precious memories.
What to Expect
The Little Garden Studio is a bright and airy space with white walls and wooden textures. It’s a beautiful backdrop that allows me to capture timeless images of your baby that you can treasure forever. The studio is designed to make you feel at home, with lots of tactile toys to keep your baby entertained and comfortable textiles for snuggles.
Now as a full-time Colchester baby photographer, I take pride in providing a high-quality service to all my clients. I know how important it is to make sure everyone feels relaxed and comfortable during the session. That’s why I offer a flexible approach, ensuring your baby leads the way. If they need a feed, cuddle or a nappy change, we’ll take the time to make sure they’re happy and content before continuing with the session.
Since starting The Little Garden Studio, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing many beautiful babies and families. I feel blessed to be able to capture these precious moments for parents and create memories that they will cherish for a lifetime. There is something so special about documenting a baby’s first few weeks of life. It’s a time when everything is new, and every little milestone is a cause for celebration.
What I Offer
I now have a beautiful space to offer not only newborn photography but also other baby milestones too. There are sessions for Maternity, Tiny Babies, Rolling Babies, Sitting Babies and Birthday Babies. I also offer a ‘Watch Me Grow’ package which allows parents to book multiple sessions to capture their little ones growth in the first few years.
Throughout the year I also offer mini sessions for Mother’s Day and Christmas and as I love to photograph families that grow throughout the spring and summer I release a limited amount of on location photo sessions.
