Natalie & James – Engaged! (Highwoods country Park Engagement Shoot)

Natalie and James were one of the first couples to book their 2019 wedding with me back in December 2017, so their big day has felt like its been a long time coming! They were also very organised with getting their engagement shoot date booked in, which was fab, but of course the weather did have other plans!

I messaged Natalie at lunchtime to double check she still wanted to go ahead as heavy rainfall was predicted, and my earlier shoot (Fran and Oli’s) had been really drizzly! Having had her make-up trial though, she was keen to go ahead – so we braved it!

Choosing Highwoods was perfect, it was quiet sheltered and when we arrived a really lovely afternoon, we headed to the lake pretty speedily just incase that rain did arrive and then took a route that Natalie and James usually walk when they’re heading into town.

We stumbled across the most beautiful bluebell patches, and just as we were nearing the end of the session the skies opened and down came that rain! Cue quickly racing back to our cars and getting soaked even though we had umbrellas!

Overall though, I don’t think you’d guess we had that to contend with, and below are some of my favourites for you…
