Friday Furday – #11

So we’ve recently been having problems with Tagg running wild as soon as he is let off his lead, which leads to jumping up at everyone with his muddy paws, chasing after other dogs and refusing to come back to us. Naturally this has made me really cautious when walking him on my own, as the last time I let him off he chased a runner in the woods and jumped up from behind at her, plus it took me forever to catch up (I’m NOT a runner!) and get him back on the lead.

So for the past two weeks he has had pretty boring lead walks, lead work at obedience school, and basically zero freedom! This has meant he is sort of getting better on his lead (until he sees other dogs and people, and boy is he getting strong now!). I can tell he is missing running though, and so today I risked it…

And, it was a success, I think the pocketful of treats I carried may have helped, and leading him up whenever I caught sight of anyone else, but at least he’s stopped straying too far and is coming back when I call…. albeit for food!

He had been crated up for a long time this morning as I had a engagement shoot in Southwold (see the sneak peek on Monday) so I felt it only fair he got a extra long walk this afternoon.

Here he is looking like better wouldn’t melt (and smiley!)

Have a great weekend everyone 😀
